Paradiso Polinesiano | Bora Bora Paradise

Visto che qui a bergamo l'estate quest'anno sembra non voglia farsi vedere (oggi è l'ennesima giornata buia e piovosa, più simile alle giornate novembrine...) mi è venuta voglia di tuffarmi in un paradiso terrestre come questo.
Si tratta dell'Hotel Hilton Bora Bora Nui resort & Spa di Vaitape, nella Polinesia Francese.
E' composto da 122 camere e suite situate su palafitte nell'acqua, sulla collina e nel lussureggiante giardino. 
Oltre a tutti i servizi che ci si aspetta da un hotel di questo calibro(come tv satellitare e accesso internet ad alta velocità), nel Resort è disponibile anche un servizio di baby sitting... anche se mi sembra il posto giusto per "fare" i bambini e non per portarli in vacanza!

This year here in Bergamo (Italy) the summer doesn't seems to show up (today is another dark and rainy day, more like a November day...) made ​​me want to dive into a paradise like this. 
It's the Hotel Hilton Bora Bora Nui resort & Spa in Vaitape, French Polynesia. 
It consists of 122 rooms and suites set on stilts in the water, on the hill and in the lush garden. 
In addition to all the services one would expect from a hotel of this caliber (such as satellite TV and high speed internet access), the Resort offers also a baby-sitting service ... even though it seems the place to "make" children and not to take them on vacation!

Guardate che bello questo progetto di Ion Popusoi e Bogdan Preda.
Si tratta del Cetatuia Loft, un complesso edilizio situato a Brasov, in Romania.
La zona giorno su due livelli, separati da una soletta in vetro strutturale e collegati da una scenografica scala, è l'elemento che, a mio avviso, caratterizza e rende interessante questo progetto.

It's the Cetatuia Loft, a building complex located in Brasov, Romania.
The living area on two levels, separated by a structural glass slab and connected by a spectacular stair, is the element which, in my opinion, characterizes and makes this project interesting.

Mangiare in un ex magazzino a Los Angeles | To eat in a former warehouse in LA

Se passate da Los Angeles, potreste fare una capatina in questo ristorante dallo stile industriale aperto nel maggio 2012 nell'Arts District: legno, metallo, mattoni e impianti a vista.
Si chiama Eat Drink Americano e si trova al 923 di East Third Street, al piano terra di un ex magazzino di mattoni rossi costruito nel 1910.
Il progetto è dell'architetto Oonagh Ryan che ha scelto di mettere a nudo la struttura originale e di valorizzarla con i rustici arredi artigianali o di recupero (come il grande lampadario di bottiglie).
Una parete della sala da pranzo è caratterizzata da un grande murale calligrafico alto 5 metri, opera dell'artista locale Peter Greco. 
Non so dirvi se si mangi bene (il menu però potete trovarlo sul sito, dove potete anche prenotare) ma l'ambiente è molto cool!

If you go to Los Angeles, you could have a dinner in this industrial-style restaurant opened in May 2012 in the Arts District: wood, metal, exposed bricks, plumbing, wiring and air system. 
Its name is Eat Drink Americano and is located at 923 East Third Street, on the ground floor of a red brick former warehouse built in 1910. 
Architect Oonagh Ryan made the design, chosing to expose the original structure and to enhance it with the rustic handmade or recovery furniture (like the great bottle chandelier). 
One wall of the dining room is characterized by a sixteen foot high calligraphy mural (by local artist Peter Greco). 
I can't tell you if the food is good (but you can find the menu on the website, where you can also make a reservation), but the environment is very cool!

Casa Olivi a Treia | Casa Olivi in Treia

Casa Olivi è una vecchia cascina di Treia (nelle Marche), ristrutturata dagli architetti svizzeri Markus Wespi e Jerome de Meuron, che si può affittare (all'esorbitante prezzo di 600€ a notte...) come casa vacanze.
Si trova su una collina, all'interno di un uliveto di un ettaro, in una posizione privilegiata che domina il paesaggio mozzafiato circostante.
La ristrutturazione ha valorizzato la struttura originale accostandola ad un arredo minimalista di design.
Il colore del legno, della pietra e dei mattoni sono combinati al bianco degli intonaci e degli arredi.
Il risultato è un atmosfera raffinatamente rustica sia all'interno che all'esterno, dove si trovano la piscina e un ampio porticato con cucina e zona pranzo per dodici persone.
Le cinque camere da letto, per un totale di 11 posti letto, hanno tutte bagno privato e aria condizionata.
La cucina in acciaio inox, che contrasta piacevolmente con i materiali tradizionali, è Arclinea.

Casa Olivi is an old farmhouse in Treia (in the Italian Region called Marches), renovated by the Swiss architects Markus Wespi and Jerome de Meuron, which you can rent (at the exorbitant price of 600 € per night...) as a holiday home. 
It is located on a hill, in a grove of an acre, in a prime location overlooking the breathtaking landscape. 
The renovation has enhanced the original structure paralleling it with minimalist design furniture. 
The colors of wood, stone and bricks are combined with the white of plasterwork and furnishings. 
The result is an elegantly rustic atmosphere both inside and outside, where there is a swimming pool and a large porch with kitchen and dining area for twelve people. 
The five bedrooms, for a total of 11 beds, all have private bathrooms and air conditioning. 
The stainless steel kitchen, which contrasts nicely with traditional materials, it is Arclinea.

Luci esterne per notti da fiaba... | Outdoor lights for fairytale nights...

Che bello stare in giardino con gli amici nelle calde notti d'estate... se mai ce ne dovessero essere ancora qui nella fredda e piovosa Bergamo! Quest'anno qui l'estate sembra più un autunno, ma io non mi dispero e confido che il caldo (prima o poi) arrivi e ci entri nelle ossa.
Quindi appena ho visto queste favolose luci da esterno, discrete e dai contorni evanescenti come le lucciole, ho immaginato lunghe serate a chiacchierare sotto le stelle...

How nice is to stay in the garden with friends in the warm summer nights... if ever there were to be still, here in the cold and rainy Bergamo (Italy)! This year the summer here looks more like a fall, but I don't despair and I trust that the heat (sooner or later) will arrive and will enter into our bones. 
So when I saw these fabulous outdoor lights, so discrete with evanescent contours like fireflies, I imagined long evenings chatting under the stars...

Rifugio brasiliano | Brazilian refuge

Circondato da alberi e ruscelli il vecchio rifugio di 101mq situato a Visconde de Maua (Rio de Janeiro), non eccelleva in comodità. Ma l'architetto Bela Gebara, che si è occupata della ristrutturazione, ha ampliato l'area fino a 130 mq, allargando la cucina e creando di una terrazza esterna pavimentata in legno.
Legno, pietra e intonaco bianco si sposano perfettamente con il cemento a vista della cucina e con le pennellate di rosso di alcuni arredi.
Il risultato è un ambiente accogliente e caldo.

Surrounded by trees and streams, the old haunt of 101mq located in Visconde de Maua (Rio de Janeiro), didn't excel in comfort. But the architect Bela Gebara, who was responsible for the restructuring, has expanded the area up to 130 square meters, enlarging the kitchen and creating an outdoor terrace with wooden floor. 
Wood, stone and white plaster blend perfectly with the exposed concrete of the kitchen and with a few strokes of red furnishings. 
The result is a cozy and warm ambience.
