Che bello stare in giardino con gli amici nelle calde notti d'estate... se mai ce ne dovessero essere ancora qui nella fredda e piovosa Bergamo! Quest'anno qui l'estate sembra più un autunno, ma io non mi dispero e confido che il caldo (prima o poi) arrivi e ci entri nelle ossa.

How nice is to stay in the garden with friends in the warm summer nights... if ever there were to be still, here in the cold and rainy Bergamo (Italy)! This year the summer here looks more like a fall, but I don't despair and I trust that the heat (sooner or later) will arrive and will enter into our bones.

Rifugio brasiliano | Brazilian refuge

Circondato da alberi e ruscelli il vecchio rifugio di 101mq situato a Visconde de Maua (Rio de Janeiro), non eccelleva in comodità. Ma l'architetto Bela Gebara, che si è occupata della ristrutturazione, ha ampliato l'area fino a 130 mq, allargando la cucina e creando di una terrazza esterna pavimentata in legno.
Legno, pietra e intonaco bianco si sposano perfettamente con il cemento a vista della cucina e con le pennellate di rosso di alcuni arredi.
Il risultato è un ambiente accogliente e caldo.

Surrounded by trees and streams, the old haunt of 101mq located in Visconde de Maua (Rio de Janeiro), didn't excel in comfort. But the architect Bela Gebara, who was responsible for the restructuring, has expanded the area up to 130 square meters, enlarging the kitchen and creating an outdoor terrace with wooden floor. 
Wood, stone and white plaster blend perfectly with the exposed concrete of the kitchen and with a few strokes of red furnishings. 
The result is a cozy and warm ambience.

Un comodo angolo lettura | A comfortable reading corner

Una delle mie attività preferite è leggere.
Da quando avevo 8 anni e mi sdraiavo sull'amaca in giardino, immergendomi nel mio giornalino preferito (Topolino), fino alle attuali lunghe letture estive che mi godo sotto l'ombrellone.
Se anche voi amate la lettura, nella vostra casa non può mancare un angolo adibito alla lettura che sia tranquillo, comodo e con una illuminazione adatta.

Un alveare di chiavi... | A beehive of keys...

A volte vedo dei progetti che mi colpiscono per la loro semplice genialità, come questo pannello portachiavi. Il pannello è formato da diverse cellette esagonali, come quelle degli alveari e i portachiavi si inseriscono all'interno di queste cellette. Ogni portachiavi ha un diverso colore, perché ciascun membro della famiglia possa distinguere le proprie. E' un progetto di Luz Cabrera e Malorie Pangilinan, due studentesse di disegno industriale al New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Sometimes I see projects that strike me for their simple genius, like this key board. The panel is made ​​up of many hexagonal cells, such as those of the beehives and keyrings fit within these cells. Each key chain has a different color, because each member of the family can distinguish their own. It's a project of Luz Cabrera and Malorie Pangilinan, two Industrial Design students at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Un sogno si avvera in Kenia... | A dream comes true in Kenya...

Qui non c'è molto da scrivere: un posto come questo è davvero unico e le immagini dicono già tutto...
Si tratta del Shompole Lodge, un hotel situato su un lato della scarpata Nguruman che domina la Great Rift Valley in Kenia. Si trova vicino ai laghi di Natron e Magadi, dove ci sono i fenicotteri.
Gli edifici sono costruiti con quarzo bianco, legno e paglia mescolando stile africano e interni in stile giapponese.
Ogni camera ha la sua piccola oasi con piscina e una vista mozzafiato.
Purtroppo non ci si può andare attualmente: è chiuso dal settembre 2011 in attesa di trovare accordi con gli abitanti Masai del luogo.

There is not much to write: a place like this is really unique and the pictures say it all... 
This is the Shompole Lodge, a hotel located on Nguruman escarpment side overlooking the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. It is located close to the lakes of Natron and Magadi, where there are flamingos. 
The buildings are constructed with white quartz, wood and straw mixing African style and Japanese-style for interiors. 
Each room has its own little oasis with pool and stunning views.
Unfortunately we can not go now: it is closed from 25th September 2011 in order to find agreements with the locals Masai.
