My Harry Potter Halloween party 2017

Lo so, è già passato quasi un mese... ma solo ora ho tempo di raccontarvi (con le immagini) la festa che ho organizzato per Halloween: il tema stavolta era Harry Potter. Dopo aver cercato su Pinterest tutte le idee a riguardo, io e mia figlia Camilla le abbiamo realizzate.

Pacchetti argento, turchese e giallo | Silver+Turquoise+Yellow packages

Quest'anno sono stata bravissima: settimana scorsa avevo già tutti i regali di Natale e oggi ho terminato i pacchetti! Credo non sia mai successo... forse nevicherà parecchio quest'inverno.
Ho scelto la carta da pacco marrone (come l'anno scorso... la adoro!) abbinata all'argento, al turchese e al giallo delle targhette. Ci sono i pacchetti classici per i regali di forma squadrata e ho fatto dei sacchetti per quelli morbidi o di forma irregolare: come sono venuti?

This year I've been very good: last week all the Christmas presents were bought and today I finished packages! I guess it never happened before... maybe it will snow a lot this winter.
I chose the brown wrapping paper (like last year ... I love it!) Combined with silver, turquoise and yellow tags. I made normal packages for squared gifts and bags for those soft or irregularly shaped: what do you think about them?

Last year the birthday party theme were the little stars.
This year I would have a normal party, no subjects... but my daughter had become accustomed too well! So we decided for the Minions theme: I searched and collected ideas on my Pinterest board and then I decided what to do.

Grotta di lusso sul Mediterraneo | Luxury cave on the Mediterranean

Il rifacimento della "Cave Suite" è stata completata nel 2015 dallo studio d'architettura PATSIOS architecture+construction. Fa parte di un più ampio progetto  di ristrutturazione dell'intero boutique hotel “1864 The Sea Captain’s House” di Oia (Isola di Santorini, Grecia).
Alla suite si accede da un cortile privato da cui si gode di una vista mozzafiato sul mare, su Caldera e sulle altre isole vulcaniche.
Gli interni esaltano le caratteristiche dell'architettura isolana, con volte ed archi imbiancati a calce, dove la semplicità degli arredi è arricchita da pochi elementi di design o della tradizione locale.
Non vorreste già essere su quella terrazza?

The reconstruction of "Cave Suite" was completed in 2015 by PATSIOS architecture+construction. It's a part of the extended renovation and restoration of the boutique hotel “1864 The Sea Captain’s House”in Oia (Santorini Island, Greece).
The suite is accessed by a private courtyard where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea, of Caldera and of the volcano islands.
The interiors enhance the characteristics of island architecture, with whitewashed vaulted and arches, where the simplicity of the furnishings is adorned with a few design or local tradition elements. 
You would not already be on that terrace?

La natura ispira la recinzione | Nature inspires fence

Qualche giorno fa, camminando fra le vie di Parigi, avvicinandomi alla Tour Eiffel da Rue de l'Université, sono passata dal Musée du Quai Branly (museo etnologico dedicato alle arti primitive ed alle civiltà "non occidentali", progettato da Jean Nouvel) e sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita dalla sua recinzione: si fonde e confonde con la vegetazione del giardino creando una barriera che non infastidisce la vista.

Some day ago, walking through the streets of Paris, getting close to the Eiffel Tower from Rue de l'Université, I passed by Musée du Quai Branly (ethnological museum dedicated to primitive arts and "non-Western" civilizations, designed by Jean Nouvel) and I was pleasantly surprised from his fence: it melts and blends with the vegetation of the garden, creating a barrier that doesn't disturb the view.

Un giro all'EXPO Milano 2015 | A stroll to EXPO Milan 2015

Ieri è stato inaugurato l'EXPO 2015 di Milano e oggi la mia amica Federica è andata a visitarlo inviandomi poi le foto. Io non vedo l'ora di andarci: sembra molto interessante ed è come fare il giro del mondo in un giorno! Non condivido le numerose polemiche circolate sui mass media a discapito della manifestazione e del suo tema "Nutrire il Pianeta, Energia per la Vita", così importante e fondamentale per l'umanità. Inoltre per la prima volta all'EXPO partecipano così tanti Paesi (145) da rappresentare il 94% dell'intera popolazione mondiale!
Voi cosa ne pensate? Non vi sembra un'opportunità unica avere l'EXPO in Italia? O credete che sia solo uno spreco di denaro?

Yesterday EXPO 2015 was inaugurated in Milan and today my friend Federica went to visit it, sending me photos. I can't wait to go there: it looks very interesting and it's like going around the world in one day! I disagree with the many controversies circulated on Italian media at the expense of the event and its theme "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", so important and crucial for humanity. For the first time at EXPO there are so many countries (145) participating thet they represent the 94% of the world!
What do you think? Don't you think it's a unique opportunity to have EXPO in Italy? Or do you believe that it's just a waste of money?

Avete mai visto una pasticceria più minimalista di questa? Arredi ridotti all'osso e pasticcini disposti in maniera rigorosa troneggiano nell'ampia sala grigia. I colori dei dolci spiccano nella neutralità della stanza. L'audace progetto della Patisserie À La Folie a Montreal (Canada) è opera dello studio Atelier Moderno e Anne Sophie Goneau.
Vi piace come la neutralità della stanza evidenzia i dolci? O vi sembra troppo spoglio? Siete fan di LESS IS MORE o di MORE IS MORE?

Have you ever seen a pastry shop more minimalist than this one? Few furniture and rigorously placed pastries tower in the wide grey room. The pastries colors stand out from the neutral room. The audacious design of Patisserie À La Folie in Montreal (Canada) is by Atelier Moderno studio and Anne Sophie Goneau.

Mattoni a vista dappertutto | Exposed bricks everywhere.

Mi sono sempre piaciuti i mattoni a vista, forse perché li ho sempre visti a casa di mia nonna.

Se la vostra casa non è costruita in mattoni, si possono sempre rivestire di listelli in cotto alcune pareti. Meglio non esagerare con il rivestimento, altrimenti si avrà un effetto taverna-anni-Ottanta, molto triste!

In quali stanze della casa starebbe bene una parete in mattoni? Direi... in tutte! Basta prendere esempio dalle foto che ho scovato per voi.

I always liked the exposed brick, maybe because I've always seen them in my grandmother's house.

If your house isn't built of bricks, you can always put a brick coating on some walls. Better not to overdo it, otherwise you will have a Eighties-tavern-look, very sad!

In which rooms of the house we could make a brick wall? I would say... in all! Just take example from the photos that I found for you.

Bellissimi in cucina, abbinati al legno o all'acciaio ma con linee semplici e design minimalista.

Wonderful in the kitchen, combined with wood or steel but always simple lines and minimal design.

Oggi vi presento dei piccoli deliziosi giardini, ottimi esempi di sfruttamento di spazi esterni ridotti. Sono la dimostrazione che non serve avere una tenuta, basta arredare e decorare sapientemente il proprio angolo di paradiso.

Sì, un giorno andrò in Marocco. Questo Paese mi affascina da molto tempo ma ancora di più dopo aver letto il libro "Il cantastorie di Marrakech" di Roy-Bhattacharya Joydeep.
Mi piacerebbe in particolare camminare nella famosa piazza di Marrakech Jemaa-el-Fna, assaggiare i cibi ed ascoltare uno dei cantastorie (anche se non capirei).
Ma vorrei visitare anche Fes, Essaouira, Chefchaouen... e dopo aver camminato sotto il sole cocente, sedermi a bere un tè alla menta. E dormire in un riad dall'atmosfera magica e romantica...
Oggi voglio sognare e guardando le foto magari sognerete un po' anche voi...

Yes, one day I'll go to Morocco. This Country has fascinated me for a long time, especially after reading the book "The storyteller of Marrakech" written by Roy-Bhattacharya Joydeep.
I'd like walking in the famous Jemaa-el-Fna square of Marrakech, tasting the food and listening to one of the storytellers (although I would not understand him).
But I would also visit Fes, Essaouira, Chefchaouen... and after walking in the hot sun, sit down to drink a mint tea. And sleep in the magic and romantic atmosphere of a riad...
Today I want to dream and maybe looking at the pictures you'll dream too...

Se avete visto la mia casa e alcuni miei post precedenti (come quello della coloratissima casa negli Stati Uniti o la casa di un artista tailandese), avrete notato la mia predilezione per gli interni che osano con i colori. 

E il loft milanese della designer Anna Gilli ne è un meraviglioso esempio.

Casa Talìa: un gioiellino della Val di Noto. | Casa Talìa: a little jewel of Val di Noto

Casa Talìa è un albergo diffuso ubicato nel centro storico di Modica, nella barocca Val di Noto (Sicilia).
Gli architetti Marco Giunta e Viviana Haddad hanno sapientemente utilizzato i materiali tradizionali per creare una calda atmosfera mediterranea: pietra, legno, ceramiche, cotto smaltato.
Ogni camera ha un carattere unico: ognuna interpreta in modo originale la cultura siciliana, sfaccettato secolare miscuglio di molte altre culture.

Casa Talìa is a boutique hotel located in the historical center of Modica, in the baroque Val di Noto (Sicily, Italy). 
The architects Marco Giunta e Viviana Haddad have cleverly used traditional materials to create a warm Mediterranean atmosphere: stone, wood, ceramics, glazed terracotta. 
Each room has a unique character: each one translates in an original way the Sicilian culture, a faceted secular mix of many other cultures.
