Una sosta in Ucraina | A stop in Ukraina

Oggi stavo guardando alcuni progetti di architetti ucraini e ho pensato che dev'essere un posto molto interessante, da visitare! Tra i vari progetti spiccava quello di un bar che fonde stile etnico e industriale: I feel espresso bar, progettato da Azovskiy & Pahomova architects.
Today I was looking at some projects of Ukrainian architects and I thought that it should be a very interesting place, to visit! Among the various projects it stood out the one of a bar that blends ethnic style and industrial: I feel espresso bar, designed by Azovskiy & Pahomova architects.

Una sosta semplice ed elegante a Milano | A simple and natty rest in Milan

Dal 18 ottobre a Milano aprirà la mostra di Van Gogh a Palazzo Reale (accanto al Duomo, per chi non lo sapesse).
Se capitaste dunque da quelle parti e voleste mangiare in un posto carino e fuori dagli schemi vi consiglio il Refettorio Simplicitas, in Via dell'orso n.2 (dista solo 800 metri, 10 minuti a piedi).
La semplicità sta alla base di questo locale, sia per quanto riguarda le scelte culinarie, sia quelle di interior design.
I cibi offerti, sempre con menu a prezzo fisso che cambiano ogni giorno, sono preparati con ingredienti biologici, a chilometro zero e in armonia con il ritmo delle stagioni.
L'ambiente minimalista è stato progettato dall'architetto Piero Castellini: pareti e volte intonacate di bianco, pavimento e arredi in legno, colonne portanti in pietra.

From 18th October the exhibition of Van Gogh will open in Milan at the Royal Palace (next to the Duomo). 
If therefore you would be there and would like to eat in a nice uncommon place I recommend you the Refettorio Simplicitas, in Via dell'orso 2 (just 800 meters away, a 10 minute walk). 
The simplicity is the basis of this local, in the culinary choices and in those about interior design. 
The foods offered, always with a fixed price menu that changes every day, are made ​​with organic, zero kilometer ingredients, in harmony with the rhythm of the seasons. 
The minimalist setting was designed by architect Piero Castellini: white plastered walls and ceilings, wooden floors and furniture, stone pillars.

Insalateria a Bergamo | A Salad Bar in Bergamo

Happy Break Salad è l'insalateria che Antonio e Davide hanno aperto l'8 Settembre a Bergamo, in Via Masone n.3.
Si tratta di un take away in cui si possono comporre a piacere le proprie insalatone, scegliendo tra le verdure di stagione biologiche e a chilometro zero, oppure si possono scegliere macedonie, frullati e zuppe. Naturalmente si effettua anche il servizio a domicilio.
A Bergamo non esisteva un locale di questo tipo: è un'ottima alternativa sana al solito pranzo con pizza o panino. 
L'interior design del locale è nato dall'incontro tra le mie proposte progettuali e il loro entusiasmo contagioso nel metterle in pratica. Si, perché oltre ad essere i gestori del locale, hanno contribuito alla ristrutturazione degli interni in prima persona: guardate il risultato!

Happy Break Salad is a new salad bar that Antonio and Davide opened on 8th September in Bergamo, Via Masone 3. 
It's a take away where you can freely compose your own salad, choosing from seasonal organic vegetables, or you can have fruit salads, smoothies and soups. Of course they also do home delivery service. 
Bergamo had no salad bar before: it is a great healthy alternative to the usual lunch with pizza or sandwich. 
The interior design of the salad bar was born from the encounter between my project proposals and their infectious enthusiasm in putting them into practice. Yes, because in addition of being the managers of the club, they have contributed to the renovation of the interior: look at the result!

Mangiare in un ex magazzino a Los Angeles | To eat in a former warehouse in LA

Se passate da Los Angeles, potreste fare una capatina in questo ristorante dallo stile industriale aperto nel maggio 2012 nell'Arts District: legno, metallo, mattoni e impianti a vista.
Si chiama Eat Drink Americano e si trova al 923 di East Third Street, al piano terra di un ex magazzino di mattoni rossi costruito nel 1910.
Il progetto è dell'architetto Oonagh Ryan che ha scelto di mettere a nudo la struttura originale e di valorizzarla con i rustici arredi artigianali o di recupero (come il grande lampadario di bottiglie).
Una parete della sala da pranzo è caratterizzata da un grande murale calligrafico alto 5 metri, opera dell'artista locale Peter Greco. 
Non so dirvi se si mangi bene (il menu però potete trovarlo sul sito, dove potete anche prenotare) ma l'ambiente è molto cool!

If you go to Los Angeles, you could have a dinner in this industrial-style restaurant opened in May 2012 in the Arts District: wood, metal, exposed bricks, plumbing, wiring and air system. 
Its name is Eat Drink Americano and is located at 923 East Third Street, on the ground floor of a red brick former warehouse built in 1910. 
Architect Oonagh Ryan made the design, chosing to expose the original structure and to enhance it with the rustic handmade or recovery furniture (like the great bottle chandelier). 
One wall of the dining room is characterized by a sixteen foot high calligraphy mural (by local artist Peter Greco). 
I can't tell you if the food is good (but you can find the menu on the website, where you can also make a reservation), but the environment is very cool!

Pranzo shabby chic a Londra. | Shabby chic lunch in London.

Il ristorante Hally's Parsons Green si trova a Londra vicino all'omonima fermata della Metropolitana, al n.60 di New King's Road.
I progettisti Alexander Waterworth Interiors si sono ispirati ai beach bars californiani per creare un clima estivo all'interno di questo locale.
Esternamente il locale ha una vetrata completamente apribile: anche se a Londra il tempo non è spesso clemente, la grande vetrata lascia penetrare molta luce.
La decorazione degli interni è basata sul recupero. I muri sono caratterizzati da mattoni a vista e assi da ponteggio, tutti dipinti di bianco, mentre il bancone è realizzato con altre assi di recupero su cui poggia il piano in marmo di Carrara. Ravviva il locale il tocco di colore degli sgabelli gialli Tolix, delle sedie rustiche di legno incurvato (tipo Thonet) dipinte in tonalità pastello e di piccole decorazioni ordinatamente disposte sulle mensole rustiche. Le assi da cantiere sono state utilizzate anche per i tavoli da pranzo e per il pavimento. La saletta posteriore ha un'atmosfera marina: sembra una capanna, tutta perlinata con assi di legno dipinte di bianco e con cuscini nei toni del blu navy. Il bagno è un gioiellino con le piastrelle bianche e blu tipo azulejos.

The restaurant Hally's Parsons Green is located in London, near the namesake subway station, at n.60 of New King's Road.Alexander Waterworth Interiors Designers were inspired by the Californian beach bars to create a summer climate in this place.
Outside, the building has a window that can be opened completely: though in London the weather is often mild, the large window lets in plenty of light.
The interior decoration is based on the recovery. The walls are characterized by exposed brick walls and scaffolding boards, all painted white, while the counter is made with other salvaged planks on which there's a Carrara's marble shelf. The room is spiced up by yellow color of Tolix stools, by the color of rustic wooden chairs (Thonet style) painted in pastel colors and by the color of small decorations neatly arranged on the rustic shelves. The boards construction have also been used for the dining tables and the floor. The back room has a marine atmosphere: it looks like a hut, all beaded with wooden planks painted white with cushions in shades of navy blue. The bathroom is a little gem with blue and white tiles like Portuguese azulejos.
